the year that was 2025

None of the "Top 9" generators work anymore, so I had to choose pictures manually. But bonus! You get two collages!

Due to going back to school, my running mileage dropped significantly in September, although I am proud of myself for maintaining frequency at 5 or even 6 runs a week. I am satisfied with finishing around 3100K for the year.

I only ran 2 ultras this year, but I finally achieved my goal of 70K in 12 hours at Conquer the Canuck in May. I will not be signing up for any ultras until I finish school (expected completion May 2027) - and to be honest, I don't have the motivation or desire to run even sub-ultra distances. After DNSing Cayuga 50K, I signed up for Tally 12 hour day to have something to train for during the summer.

Later in the year, I somehow repeated as Fairweather Runners beer mile champ. Speaking of beer, I shared some kilometres and dranks with the Nickelbrook run club.

Back in 2019, Jeff asked me to be the scissor judge for the Running With Scissors race. Covid put a kibosh on that race, but it finally happened in early December. It was WAY more chaotic than I imagined, with packs of runners coming in both directions. But people did a great job cutting, and I estimate that we gave out several hundred shapes to cut and I only rejected about 10 of them.

In 2026, I hope to be at Happy Trails races with my classmates doing outreach, so I will still be at the races in some shape or form. I do have FOMO about races even though as I said earlier, I am not at all in the right mindspace to train for anything.

I never know how to end these blogs and I want to keep this completely chatGPT free so - peace out from 2025.
